Logan’s review published on Letterboxd:
Ok Ari Aster😳
For me, Hereditary is one of the most poorly acted and laughably bad horror movies of this decade, and while I respect Aster’s ideas, the movie just ends up being a dud.
Now Midsommar, THAT was a horror movie. This thing is a colorful nightmare soaked in awe-inducing cinematography. This thing is written so tenderly. And amidst this chaos and color, there are some genuinely scary moments. I mean stuff that was grotesquely marching in theme. I may love Eggers a lot more than this guy, but if Aster can keep making this shit, Eggers will have some competition.
God damn this movie is fuckin scary.
