Logan Wilkin’s review published on Letterboxd:
[Chinese title: GUI LAI]
...how can you have a soul if you cannot respond to such a story? Yimou Zhang's COMING HOME (2014) is a most touching film that will place your heart in a vice, proceed to squeeze gradually with every turn of its unfolding narrative, building up to an unbeknownst pillow case of emotions that bursts apart tears of feathers in its final scene. What would you sacrifice for the one you love who has once loved you, but cannot recall who you are due to amnesia?
There is no film released [this] year that is more human.
RIP June Wainwright
footnote: Fuck THE NOTEBOOK (2004); that movie mocks your emotions...(in comparison).
