Hey everybody, I started a podcast. I like to think its pretty decent but would love to hear your thoughts. We talk about two films in depth each week and this week we talked about My Girl along with The World of Kanako. If you wanted to watch it you can check it out here.
If you don't want to watch it but need my epic expert opinion, I thought the film was kind of bad. A lot of poor acting, some terrible plot choices, and some pretty laughably bad writing. A huge chunk of screen time is dedicated to this blossoming romance between Dan Aykroyd and Jamie Lee Curtis and I would argue it shouldn't have been in the film at all and really worked hard to undermine all the actually good sequences and scenes in the film. For each potentially powerful or potent scene, there was a scene of a little girl getting pissed and ramming Jamie Lee Curtis in bumper cars.
