London’s review published on Letterboxd:
John Carney is incredible at making moments. Moments of happiness, sadness, realness. The music is incredible and Falling Slowly is legitimately one of my favorite songs.
When I first watched Once I fell in love. On a rewatch my love has only grown. All of the characters are wonderfully acted and genuine to real life. There struggles are palpable and relatable and their journey is one we all go on.
But I think what I love the most part about Carneys films is how grounded the relationships are. Love is a very painful, fickle, and bizarre thing and John Carney knows that. Even when something tragic happens, it is all for the better and the film ends on a stronger note than the VAST majority of films.
Incredible and lovely, Once is something you should watch more than once. HAHA.
