FBI Agent Warren Stantin (Sidney Poitier) must brave the elements - and his surly guide (Tom Berenger) - in his pursuit of a wily diamond smuggler/killer. Some of Poitier’s interactions in the wild border uncomfortably on comic, but for the most part, this is a well-crafted adventure thriller. Some clever touches and the outdoors are depicted impressively.
