Lost in Translation 2003
This is a movie that feels made for Bill Murray, his sort of tired deadpan as Bob works to all of his real dramatic and comedic strengths. Sofia Coppola manages to make the city of Tokyo feel just as isolating for the audience as it does for the characters. The addes mix of beautiful cinematography and a great indie soundtrack makes this movie look and sound as beautiful as is it really is.
This is is a must watch.

The Lighthouse 2019
Gritty and brutal, this is a masterclass in sheer intensity and the horror of not knowing what is real. Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe bring their A game while Robert Eggers shows a true mastery of every aspect of film and uses it to show two of the most brutal mental breakdowns in horror history. It's also weirdly funny, in both a purposeful dark comedy and a "oh shit" chuckle kind of way. Absolutely amazing.
Also if you love the idea of watching Robert Pattinson furiously masturbate in a shed then oh boy is this a movie for you.
