Rosemary's Baby

Rosemary's Baby ★★★★

This is still very hard to comprehend. I'm still figuring out my thoughts. There is so much in this that is simply unbelievable. It's a film that is so ahead of it's time, that's one of the many reasons I was taken aback.

It's been a long time coming, but this is my first Roman Polanski film. Even though his name is infamous to even mention now; there's no denying his universal acclaim his films have received over the years.

I already love horror. I knew this was much beloved. I figured it was about time I watched it. I'm very glad that I did, although, it wasn't entirely what I was expecting, then again, I didn't know what to expect from this.

I've said it once already. I'll say it again. This film felt so ahead of it's time. I've seen many other films like that. But this felt almost like something else. It's a very special and unique experience for anyone.

I'll say that it's too early to tell if this is an all time favourite, in general or even among horror, but it's full of some pretty incredible stuff. It will make you feel like you're going crazy and it will not hold back at all.

The performances are brilliant. Especially and clearly the stand out being Mia Farrow. That's not even a debate. The music felt very emotional, it made you feel like you should feel sad.

More than fifty years old; and this is one of the most relentless, slow burns of a horror film I've ever seen. It doesn't punch away at you, instead, it will get deep under your skin, and it will stay there. Even after the credits have finished.
