The Grand Budapest Hotel

The Grand Budapest Hotel ★★★★

Quirky, star-studded slice of comic weirdness from the pen and camera of Wes Anderson. In a series of vignettes we hear from the owner of the Grand Budapest, Zero Moustafa (F Murray Abraham), his life story, as he tells it to 'The Young Writer' (Jude Law).

Much of the story is explained in wordy voiceover, and the dialogue is sharp, funny, and off-the-wall. You might take a moment to get into the rhythm of this, but once you know what it is meant to be, you may well find you like this very much.

There's a fight over an artwork ('Boy With Apple'), a murder mystery, and a whole host of characters who you may find slightly, but not completely, familiar. The locations, all within Germany, are perfect.

Featuring Ralph Fiennes, Tom Wilkinson, Tilda Swinton, Adrien Brody, Willem Dafoe, Harvey Keitel, Edward Norton, and Bill Murray.
