This was not good? I think the 60’s makeup and costume are the only redeeming quality..it’s weird because even edgar’s direction is very ugly and like TOO EXTRA without saying anything..everything is so surface level!( I mean you could hear Edgar screaming “MAKE YOUR EYES BIGGER PLEASEEE!”)

I just don’t think this is the type of story I wanted from this which sucks because again it has a cool premise but man the execution is DULL! Also it’s 2021 there’s no excuse for the way the black character is written here, this is what happens when “blind” casting happens without taking into consideration race!

Stephen sondheim put this on his list of fave movies and what do you know?? ITS ONE OF MINE TOO!

Decided to revisit because it’s an ultimate comfort film, if makes me miss getting lost in new york and Judy garland makes me cry anytime she looks away from the camera.

The last 20 or so minutes of this is straight up a masterpiece in pacing, angst and the score. And the best part of the movie is that it’s essentially what would have happened in a movie that never get shown? Like most movies would start where this ends and I LOVE THAT SO MUCH.

I can’t remember the last time a film made me feel the way I left Marriage story, I had to run to the bathroom and kinda just breakdown in a little stall to let my heart kinda sort it’s shit out.

I’m a child of divorce on the older spectrum, so these characters and scenarios often felt so close, but also at times so far from what I experienced..that you can’t really help but admire the shit out of what…

Everything about this feels like warm memories that I don’t have. Set in the 70’s in a town only Angelenos know, filled in with Hollywood Titans making cameos and at the center two people finding themselves. It’s a romance, not a coming of age. But it feels like a wishful romance, one that never happened that PTA is fanfic writing his own little “okay but what if?”

PTA shoots this thing so beautiful and so much running!!(white people running…
