Worth the wait. The first half was a lot of fun, and the second a powerful sendoff. That said it sags a bit at times, and Rami Malek was in a different film to everyone else.
How can a film be so astonishingly beautiful one moment, then cripplingly terrifying the next, and a moment later both at the same time? I am truly astonished by what Alex Garland has managed to turn Jeff Vandermeer's novel into. The book was great, the film is tremendous.
The atmosphere seeps into you in much the same way the effects of the environments effect the characters, and there are a couple of moments that will probably never leave me behind.…
