The New Years Resolutions - Film #21
I'm in love with the dream-like tone, the lethargic pacing, the impeccable compositions, the stunning cinematography and the honest performances. Antonioni pushes his style even further into the abstract here; so much is said without being spoken, the sign of a director in complete control of his tone and atmosphere. La Notte is a film full of ideas, motifs, symbols and truth, but in the end, I was left with one distinct thought; that eventually, time and habit will ruin everything.
