Not a *complete* reinvention of the tired musical biopic formula but certainly a reinvigorating one!
The musical fantasy sequences in this film are CRAZY fun, I'm honestly surprised that I haven't seen this idea done before, they feel like such a natural inclusion. The fact that Dexter Fletcher was capable of these highs after his last botch job only makes Bryan Singer's work on BoRhap all the more embarrassing.
Taron is as good as you've heard. Good golly, can that boy SING!
