    The Shape of Water

okay i LOVED this. I fuckin LOVED IT. Way more than I thought I was going to. Michael Shannon was fantastic, the writing was gorgeous, the cinematography was so dreamy and gah, I just loved it. I didn't even mind the weird semi-beastiality thing

  • Captain America: Civil War

  • Lady Bird

    Lady Bird

I literally lived this movie. I lived it. It was the first time I didn't watch a Greta Gerwig project and want to puke, the entire thing felt true and real and earnest and pure and it never overstayed its welcome. I loved it

  • Coco

oh my GOD this was beautiful!! I loved every minute!!! I cried for the entire last 20 minutes!!! Make more movies like this!!! GAHHHHH

  • Star Wars: The Last Jedi

    Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Holy shit nuggets. I loved loved loved this film. Force Awakens was a little weak for me but God, the risks Johnson took in this one paid off. I loved the character development we got and some of the shots literally brought me to tears. The red, black, white and grey theme was *sighs* god. Loved it.

  • Gerald's Game

    Gerald's Game

Hush was such an interesting take on the home invasion horror subgenre that I was so excited to see where Flanagan would take this film. 2017 is the year of Stephen King and I've been living for these adaptations. This one is captivating and does an amazing job of building tension and never gets boring. Full of interesting shots and the color palette is awesome

  • The Florida Project

    The Florida Project

I loved every bit of this until the very last minute or so. After reading an article about it I understand the reasoning behind it, but it was still too jarring to hit for me. Wish the ending was a little different but besides that, Sean Baker is fantastic at capturing snippets of life in a heartbreaking way.

  • Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Okay I enjoyed this. I've heard people say it was boring but I really connected to the characters more in this and Kurt Russell and the storyline was an interesting twist. The soundtrack is spot on as always and I loved the very last scene

  • Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

This could've been a little shorter and a little cleaner, but the last 20 minutes make it worth the wait. I wish the entire thing would've been a war movie in space but I'll take what I can get. Also the hallway scene at the end was perfection. Star Wars 4ever

  • The Square

    The Square

Dang. This was an insane ride. I'm still not sure what it was even about but I laughed out loud and was captivated the entire time. Gonna have to sit and think on it for a little while more.
