Sorcerer ★★★★

While the first 25 minutes or so of background working drag us through a somewhat unnecessary drawl which halts the pacing of such an explosive film, the latter portion makes up for it in unique thrills, pant-shitting, and a vicious expression of hopelessness.

The final 20 minutes of the film alone make up a solid few stars. It's sheer horror, and you can really see Friedkin's previous work on The Exorcist shock through the atmosphere while Tangerine Dream hums in the background.

The original picture is in my watchlist so it will be interesting to see how they contrast with the different time periods and artistic direction.
