The first 2/3 of this movie is kept very interesting by a creepy vibe and captivating cinematography, costuming, and overall look. However, The plot, and it’s direction, seemed lacking. This would be 2.5 stars, but I give it a 3 on the strength of look and feel, which would be excellent with a better script.

Tom Hanks in a funny, smart slasher movie. Sure, it’s a Halloween clone, but it successfully combines elements of gialli and detective thrillers into the mix.

Intriguing use of the slasher to convey some very timely ideas. Good soundtrack too. Not all of the execution worked for me, but there is more than enough here to recommend watching.
