Really engrossing. Mesmerising performance from Jeff Bridges, and Weir’s direction is superb. Will be watching more of his films asap.

Hate to admit I found Rosie Perez’s performance a bit grating, because her character was great. Isabella Rossellini is fantastic though.

Has one of the most brutal edits I’ve seen in a cinema, hit me like a fucking truck.

    Great film.

Wild how solid this is considering its budget and Scorsese’s (in)experience. Almost think I prefer this to Mean Streets, largely due to Thelma’s editing which is just - as always - absolutely class. Really cool to see Scorsese preoccupied with toxic masculinity a decade before Taxi Driver and Raging Bull. Great performance from Keitel too. Glad I watched this!

A movie that begs the question: can horniness transcend the body and the mind?

    (The answer is yes)
