not sure why it spends most of its runtime rejecting what makes the film unique, and instead focuses on a tried and tired version of the departed that we've seen before and better. honestly, a really fun time whenever cage as dracula is on screen, but for a film about the servant of dracula he rarely is!
in the end, mostly fine. i appreciated the distinct visual approach, but shooting something like this on 35mm would help immensely in the embracement of the classic grindhouse violence it toes the lines with.
