Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice ★½

This starts out well enough despite being a structural disaster—Snyder does a good job of establishing Batman's motivations, setting the stage for the conflict, and I loved the whole national discussion going on about where Superman fits into our world. Eisenberg is bad but negligible, and Amy Adams is wasted in a ridiculously dumb subplot, but whatever.

But that second half... woof. That Justice League set-up is completely half-assed (an email, really?), there's a dream sequence within a dream sequence within a dream sequence as a means of providing Easter eggs without actually serving the story, and then finally, when you think it can't get any worse— MARTHA. And then just when you think it can't get any worse than Martha— BAGPIPES. This might be better on a second viewing since I'll be better adjusted to the rhythm of this mess, but as it stands, it's pretty bad.

*EDIT: Gave this a 1/2 star more after seeing the abomination that was Suicide Squad.
