Racism is bad but Skin is worse.
There's still something about this that just doesn't click with me. Maybe it's the fact that literally every character is an unlikeable dick (particularly the main character) or maybe it's because the whole investigation side of the plot is completely uninteresting to me.
I can still watch and enjoy it for John Carpenter's direction, the soundtrack is awesome and the effects are great (especially the gas station scene) but the film gets old after a while and the main character is probably one of the most unlikeable protagonists in an otherwise pretty decent film.
Due to my reverence for the original, I can't lie and say I wasn't entertained. Granted this isn't good.
I mean it's basically just a remake of the original, Kurt Russell does an impression of Clint Eastwood and the visual effects were awful (search up 'Escape from L.A. surfing scene' and you'll understand) and most of the acting (save for Kurt and Buscemi) was pretty awful.
Cool action scenes though, I love Kurt Russell and I love John Carpenter.
Jesus, why do all of Woody Allen's films feel like they're the exact same? This was SO boring, Joaquin Phoenix didn't look like he had any idea what the fuck he was talking about for the whole movie, he looked about as hammered as his character was, Emma Stone clearly didn't give a shit, it feels like it was made by a 20-year-old fresh out of film school going "Yo the world's fucked up isn't it? Imagine if everyone thought…
Well, it’s safe to say that I have no idea what the fuck I just watched, but I know I love it. Here are my notes that I took while watching, enjoy;
Is that Kristen Stewart? (It wasn’t)
What the fuck is happening?
I love smurfs
Lol is he a mime?
If he can do anything then he should give smurfs dicks
Is this meant to be a dark comedy?
