Harrowing film that is not afraid to show the terrible things that happened during WWII. It depicts the awful events of WWII and manages to still keep an engaging story that really reels you in. All in all also a very well made film that showed how cruel the nazi regime was for the jews and what they had to go through. Brody was amazing. The film's focus on a (real) jewish pianist I really appreciated, to show the war…

This film is dark, gritty, grim and violent just like the novel. It also looks absolutely stunning, would have been great to see this in the cinema. It is a good adaptation of the book, as it’s very creative and unique, but it is kind of sad it leaves out half of the story. Still this has some of the best cinematography I’ve seen! The dark tone and the theme of violence is carried out throughout the whole film, which is very well done.

Its gorgeous, funny and cute setting is used to explore the themes of parenthood, the self, friendship, relationships, role models and the seemingly inescapable mid-life…
