  I rarely even rate movies but boy, was that bad.

  It just tried so hard to be profound and deep but ended up being melodramatic and over-simplistic, wanna-be tearjerker.

  I get what it wanted to be and what it tried to talk about, I could see glimpses of that sometimes, but in the end, it was just an all over the place movie with weird pace, loose ends in narrative and shallow characters. And I can't shake the feeling it didn't say anything about Shoko besides her being deaf, timid and sorry for everything all the time.

  1 star for pretty animation.
