The Great Dictator 1940
My first Charlie Chaplin film and I couldn't be more impressed. Some of the comedy and gags here are hilarious and despise this not being a silent film, most of the humour comes from slapstick comedy which was certainly my favourite part. Chaplin provides a satire that is both poignant in its critique of the nazi movement while delivering moments of comedy gold. That ending monologue in particular will never not be important.

The Apartment 1960
Funny and sad at the same time. Mentions Loneliness, Adultery and workplace politics simultaneously. Simple yet wonderfully written story jumping between the fine line that separates comedy and drama, couldn't get any better.
