Evelyn’s review published on Letterboxd:
The premise of this documentary is like something you'd put under a crate, a stick, and some string if you wanted to catch me in a trap. Upon actually watching it, it's pretty wild how much this feels like the sort of thing I'd make if I had the resources. Even, or perhaps especially, the over the top corny parts that didn't quite work - in that way it was probably great viewing for me as a cautionary tale!
Overall there are just too many knockout moments for me to not love the thing. Of course I was incredibly annoyed to see an idiot like Alec Baldwin or a rube like James Carville on my screen, but I suppose it's appropriate for something trying to truly capture America in 2016. Mike Meyers was fantastic. My Elvis obsession grows only deeper, I think he's the true portrait of an American Coward.
