Maddie’s review published on Letterboxd:
I’m going to think about this film for an incredibly long time.
I understand that Lynch isn’t for everyone, and I’m not going to act like it is, but this is an absolute feat that I’m glad I finally got around to watching.
I’m obsessed with every small stylistic choice Lynch makes in order to truly engulf the viewer into the world he has created.
I cannot wait for a rewatch, as I know it will make the impact of this film even greater.
P.S. this is a great example of subtle LGBTQ+ representation! It’s so awesome to just see a gay “love” story without the whole thing simply centering around it being between women. This is so casually just hey! Girls can like girls deal with it!
