    First Reformed

    ★★

A reoccurring question in First Reformed is, "Will God forgive us?"
It's a provocative and haunting thought.

    Except if your Christian.
Then you know the answer is easy: Yes.

Kind of the whole idea of Christianity.

First Reformed doesn't set out to trash Christianity like so many Hollywood movies these days, nor is it one of these faith based feel good movies.
Instead, it's a dark, brooding and very serious look at a crisis of faith.

    Deadpool 2

    ★★★

If you liked the first Deadpool, here's more of it.
In fact, that would have been a better title: "More Deadpool".

Of course, now the novelty of a self aware, wise-cracking, R-Rated Super-"hero" is not as fresh as the first time around which is just about the only bad thing I can say about this sequel.

The premise is clever: it treats the concept of cats' nine lives as if they are past lives. In other words: we see the different reincarnations of Garfield.

Allow me to go through one by one. Keep on reading, because…

    Real Steel

    ★★★

Rock 'Em-Sock 'Em Robots the Movie actually tells a human story.
Not a terribly original story. Not a great story.
But for a movie about large robots duking it out in the boxing ring, it's surprisingly and refreshingly more about the human characters.
There are plenty of robot fight scenes, but the majority of the movie is about the two main characters.

Hugh Jackman plays an ex-boxer who has been down on his luck and does his best to make…
