That didn't work for me at all. Three average spooky tales rendered completely inconsequential by a not-so-clever third act.
This is a tentative 4. I still have a lot to wrap my head around. It's a slow burn, so I suspect the mainstream crowd will get bored before all the fireworks go off. The director gives the movie plenty of room to breathe, seemingly keeping all the characters at arms length as they deal with their grief. The sound design really hammers it home, filling that space with bass and screeching strings.
