Dirk Diggler’s review published on Letterboxd:
Possession is a psychological horror film about a horribly disintegrating marriage, a film that becomes a more uncomfortable and crazy experience by every minute, and manages to be absurdly funny, terrifying, thought-provoking and profound. It contains resonant and disturbing imagery, a tense and surreal atmosphere, brilliant and fluid and almost constantly moving camera work, and Adjani and Neill are both extremely committed to their roles. Both deliver top-notch and beautifully over-the-top performances, but Adjani is really the one that shines with a crazy and breathtaking performance. God that subway scene was sickening (honestly one of the most disturbing scenes i've seen), and the ending scary. This is pure mad cinema. I am left very confused and sick to the stomach, but what an experience it was. Possession is a film like nothing else.
