Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me

Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me ★★★★½

As I recently finished Twin Peaks, I was eager to watch this. And oh boy, it certainly didn't disappoint.

Its much different from the tv-show, its darker, more surreal and way scarier, and it overall gives more weight to the show as we see everything from Laura's disturbing point of view. How Lynch consistently is able to create such an eerie and surreal atmosphere is beyond me. There's so many things to love about this film. The odd, haunting and interesting characters that you want to know so much more about. The both beautiful and terrifying score that gets under your skin. The dreamlike and freaky imagery. The deeply sad and tragic story of Laura Palmer. Sheryl Lee's phenomenal performance. The entrance of Bob in Laura's room that scared the living shit out of me. The truly uncomfortable Black Lodge-scene, and the unsettling, but emotional ending. It's all confusing and weird, but its raw fear, madness and terror all the way through it. Lynch is simply a master. Probably one of the most uncomfortable horror films i've ever seen, and definitely one of Lynch' most underrated.
