Spider-Man: Far from Home ★★★

There was always going to be an element of 'After the Lord Mayor's Show' about this film following on from the epic events of Avengers - Endgame. So while this acts as both an epilogue and an opening of a new chapter of the MCU, it's very much a low-key and light-hearted entry in the ongoing superhero saga.
With a globe-trotting backdrop and a not particularly inspired storyline which plays with audience / character expectations in a similar vein to Iron Man 3, this is little more than a stop-gap between major story arcs, feeling far removed from the dazzling, dramatic highs of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2, or the visual flair and imagination overload of the recent Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse.
