I figured that this was going to be a fun Bill Murray comedy with some heart. But what I got was so much more than that. At it's core, Groundhog Day is really about a man simply learning to live for others. It just so happens to be consistently funny along the way, which comedies don't often do. It also doesn't stray away from dark subject matter like our mortality and immortality, and even suicide, which gives the film something really touching to say. Thank you, movie, for making me want to live again.
