    Zodiac

    ★★★★½

I saw the director's cut, but if I'm being honest, I really can't tell what is different. It's also true I haven't seen "Zodiac" in a long time. It's a chilling experience and a never-ending thrilling ride on the mystery that is the identity of the real life Zodiac Killer. It's true an exceptional story and just like the rabbit hole the characters get caught on, the audience might find themselves on the same situation if their curiosity is sharp…

  • The Little Things

    The Little Things

    ★★

It's simply terrible when actors are just going for acting on a film. When you know they are trying to do as much "acting" as possible to showcase how great they are at their craft rather than giving their all for their character. I got this feeling from both Jared Leto and Rami Malek (who looked like he was still making an impression of Freddie Mercury), and sometimes from Denzel. Usually, Denzel always delivers a class act, but even the plot was preventing him from doing anything. Having said that, the plot does little sense, and it's like an imitation from other crime thrillers.

Dario Argento's film-directing debut might not be as flashy and entrancing as his most famous works, but it's definitely a great part of the giallo catalogue. Just like some film-noirs check all the items of "what makes a film-noir?", "The Bird with the Crystal Plumage" does the same closely. The protagonist is something of an outsider, on this case, he is an american in Rome. A murder witnessed by the protagonist starts a horrible mystery begging to be unraveled. Beautiful…

    The Suicide Squad

    ★★★★½

As I'm posting this review, I know the first thing people look at is the score. They will think I regard "The Suicide Squad" as highly as the "Dekalog"'s episodes I've seen so far. Which is not true, ratings are something very subjective and I use them as a tool to categorize films for me. They can still be informative about my thoughts but not as informative as what I (and pretty much everyone) have to say/write about them.

    That…
