It unfortunate that a movie taking place in a record store in the 1970s is chalk full of the worst kind of shallow exploitive characters, not even with a bit of simple likability. A movie like this reinforces why record stores deserved to die out instead of finding the heart and community they encaptured. I guess we have to look to empire records instead. But this does have kinky friedman.
