    My Neighbor Totoro

A child's mind is one of the most magnificent things in the world. It's such a complex and mysterious place.
One of the key points in Nietzsche's philosophy lies in his idea of Übermensch; vaguely, I'd say the Übermensch is this human who accepts suffering, loneliness, risk, someone who looks at the sorrow elements of life and says yes to them. But before all that, Nietzsche said we have to pass through some he called "The three metamorphoses."
    The spirit…

    The Tree of Life

I loved this film because it portraits the god I want to believe in.
There are reasons to think that this could be regarded as a christian film or at least semi-christian, beginning with a brief amount of Job mentions. I don't consider myself a christian. I want to be away from all those religious connotations. But I found in Job part of the god I want to believe in. Job, after having all a human can have and then…

The first scene could easily be one of the best I've ever seen.
Almost two months have passed since the last time I decided to sit in my room and watch a film, partly due to lack of time, but mainly due to lack of mentality. I don't feel bad, and I'd dare say quite the opposite. I think that for now, I don't have the mind that is needed to watch films, at least those that I'd like.

Of every film by Tarkovsky that I've seen, Mirror has been a challenge for me.
I'd not dare say that it is the only one I've not understood because that would imply that it's not the case with the other films. But I'd say that it is the only film in which, with the pardon of the word, I have not connected at any time.
When I finished it the first time I watched it, I didn't even have a…

    Don’t Cry, Pretty Girls!

With alluring cinematography, the lyrics of songs and poems give way to a very special way of telling a story that has to be told, love in youth, choices, adventures, and feelings.
This strange but glamorous combination of what at times feels like a good music documentary and sometimes this simple and great story makes this whole work something charming and truly captivating.
