The Devil All the Time

The Devil All the Time ★★★½

Oh wow, where to even begin.

So the performances were all great, i felt that Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Sebastian Stan, and Riley Keough were all really good and the rest of the cast did a good job as well, this is a movie filled with actors i really liked and the acting was probably the strongest thing about it.

The movie does come together during the third act in a satisfying and conclusive way, i feel the first act is kind of aimless and slow but it does get better as it goes along, the scene in the church with Pattinson and Holland and the scene where Sebastian Stan discovers his sister's pictures were absolutely amazing.

But i feel the movie needed to be longer because this is a movie with several different plotlines that all converge at the end, i feel it should have been either 3 hours long or a miniseries because aside from Tom Holland's story, every other story felt very underdeveloped and kinda lacking.

Also this movie did not need narration, basically instead of letting is interpret what's in a character's mind, the movie has to constantly spell it out to us like we're idiots, the narration was so distracting and unnecessary.

Overall it is a good movie but it's one that's more than two hours long yet still somehow feels a bit undercooked.
