I don’t know what else to say, I actually found this really beautiful.
It’s like Tarantino really put his heart and soul into this one, while serving up an imaginative slice of fan-fiction to the world.
All the performances are wonderful - moments of silence are just as powerful as moments of action, and every shot is full of life and visually crisp, including some absolutely amazing crane work by the cinematographer.
It really captures the essence of a time and place so accurately, while building to an unpredictable conclusion that is simultaneously outrageous, respectable and ultimately euphoric.
What a marvellous testament to the art of storytelling, and even more so, to cinema itself.
One of the years best by far.
