  • Aquaman

The film about the master of the oceans does have merit in side of the effects, which to date are one of finest I have seen. Certain aspects and the colour-world are finely done. Just what one expects from a good comic-book to film adaptation.
    But that’s it.
The word simple doesn’t begin to describe the plot. It is almost non-existent. The same hero-warrior-endless fighting etc. ethos we see in any film of this genre told in the most unsuspenceful…

    Eye of the Devil

    Gothic horror meets the 60s.

Despite it’s somewhat not so successful efforts on trying to be surrealistic, the film manages to maintain a solid atmosphere and style as well as a steady pace.

The assemble cast do their jobs but their performances, not including that of Deborah Kerr’s, are are bit bland and expressionless. As is the film in whole.

Even if Kubrick was a perfectionist, this film has slight interference in editing. Especially in the pace between the War Room and B-52 at the near end…

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

A thoroughly enjoyable film. The directing is good, which cannot be said about the many films of this scale. The action is a bit too insisting but one always enjoys a good space battle.
Once Star Wars was something original, but Rogue One seems to loane from various blockbuster cliches. From Saving Private Ryan to all those eastern kung-fu films. As well as films depicting that somewhat dreary life on space. However the original took it's share from westerns and…
