With fantastic effects, over-the-top monster design, and a storyline that actually kinds of makes sense — at least, more so than they usually do in third installments — Hellraiser III feels like a fun, faithful execution of the franchise. No Cenobite will ever top the former DJ with CDs embedded in his head who shoots other CDs like lethal Frisbees, making mechanical sounds with every move. It’s just amazing. *chef’s kiss*

Ultraviolet is so over-the-top that the incomprehensible nature of its narrative almost seems like a feature rather than a bug. It gets a lot of hate, but if you go in looking at it through a Lynchian lens of utter surreality, it’s actually a wild ride and quite a good time!
