  Some pretty stunning imagery at play here, but as always, Garland demonstrates his strength as a writer. I understand why the film is divisive, but you can’t deny that the polarizing aspect of films is what keeps us coming back for more. 

  Garland’s choice to keep Harper’s dialogue to such a minimum was very much by design.  And when she did speak, it was with purpose and strength. As a man, Garland was conscious that he shouldn’t speak for her.…
