    something about logan lerman’s acting style reminds me so much of emile hirsch in his hey-day. but especially in this lowkey misogynistic, kind of affecting, but generally alienating and pretentious narrative

    the pacing and timing of the past/present/future structure builds some interesting tension, but the script is kind of weak and self-indulgent. this is a very white male writer film — to be expected considering the hunter s thompson/david foster wallace mentions so early on 

    and logan’s always on hand…

    nat and alex wolff fight over a girl, alex calls nat a “white motherfucker”, alex exposes himself on the street, alex says “et tu floor?” to the floor, alex puts on this helium voice v sporadically but also a lot, and their dog dies, and the whole thing is directed by their mum. 


    this is not a good movie but also, it is a good movie. no further questions
