    oh my god.

this was my first time watching this and i feel so lucky to have been able to see it in theatres! i can't remember the last time i saw a film and felt this way afterwards... the silent drive home as you sit in that sombre, inspired, mind blown appreciation that the movie exists... it feels like a prayer.

watching this film was like watching a poem. i love films. i love love. i love films about…

had to sit on this review for a few hours bc i genuinely adore this film so so much. it's clever, and intricate, and delicate, and subtle. it's a coming of age story but creepy as hell and also just a really fun time on the surface. the stop motion is gorgeous and blows my mind to think about. the colors. the textures. the sets. henry selick went all out on this, and it's such an impressive piece of art.…

solid!! it's no Spotlight but same hat.

Zoe Kazan and Carey Mulligan are great. especially Zoe tho!! i've loved her since The Big Sick and she just really shines in this movie-- our girl can do comedy And drama!

loved all the dialogue. there was so much dialogue! i LOVE when people be talking! conversation scenes yesssss!!

it was also surprisingly well shot. not in a ~gorgeous composition~ way, but the utilization of the environments and background movements that made…

my sisters and i are all adopted from china, and currently in the process of trying to find our birth parents, so watching this documentary for family movie night w our parents was a bit of an Emotional Ride. but as i try to put my personal bias aside... it's really well made. the writing/editing is great, you care for all the characters, and i really love how it tells the story from all the different sides- not only the…

this was fun!!! loved it! the second half Did lose me a bit bc the trailers/marketing are v misleading as to what the story is actually about... BUT literally who cares about any of that when the VibesTM are so good? why must something be ""well written"" when the movie looks like That, and the cast is like That, and the songs and colors and directing are like That! it's the 60s! there's fashion and London and cheesy horror and…
