Mark J Jackman’s review published on Letterboxd:
I am a great defender of this film. Sure it’s not as good as the first, but it’s still got the charm. Gunn’s playful style and comedy really shines through, even if some of the jokes don’t land. Most of them do however and it’s genuinely funny all the way through. As well as pulling off the comedy, it also succeeds with the down beat and emotional elements, with the ending being a surprising gut punch. Kurt Russell was a brilliant addition to the cast, and the soundtrack was as amazing as expected. The opening credits are still one of my favourite openers ever.
The only bit I don’t get is how Gamora can pick up the ships turret with ease. Like that thing is at least three times the size of her. What a mystery.
