I love putting my spurious, unoriginal thoughts about films on the internet for nobody to read.
Vroom vroom bitch here comes Russell Crowe on his lil Vespa to fight demons
(I’m seriously here for this era of middle aged prestigious actors just having fun and taking totally ridiculous, unserious roles as they get older btw. Russell, may you join Hugh Grant, Ryan Gosling and Daniel Craig in having the time of your life!!)
I know it’s controversial, I know everybody hates it, I know it makes 0 sense, but I weirdly thought it was pretty good.
I thought it captured the anxiety, guilt and repressed rage having an overbearing, emotionally abusive and manipulative parent can cause and how this weighs on you in adulthood quite well, even if sometimes it’s a bit all over the shop.
I think even though it’s totally weird and bizarre it’s actually also super relatable- we’ve all met…
