    I'm only halfway through this movie and it's so laughable. Every scene feels like a stereotype or a cliche. Walken gives a good performance, as do a few other people. But in general, every scene feels stilted and awkward - I'm currently watching David Caruso's absurd speech in the bar after the big community hospital gala; that scene is even worse.

    Like others, I found the structure confusing. It's also never clear what is actual documentary footage and what is a reenactment. In the end it seemed to be an attempt to elevate the assumed actions of one of the climbers over those of everyone else. And then there's this old Italian guy who was somehow overlooked in history and this movie just takes his word for it and periodically breaks the meager suspense of the movie to give him the chance to express his grudges. I wanted to get to the end, so it was suspenseful, but I was frequently annoyed along the way.
