🪄 marsha! ✨’s review published on Letterboxd:
one star for just the greatest credits song after a horror movie ever. whoever did this, god bless you, you complete and utter genius.
this movie could’ve been two separate things that would’ve gotten it rated way higher:
1) really fucking hysterical, if it werent so BORING. everything in this movie was so fucking.... nonsensical! like NOTHING made sense! and that is HILARIOUS! except it doesnt feel like the filmmakers know how utterly stupid the whole situation is, and never leaned into it. i dont know how you decide not to lean into absurdity when you’ve decided to put a werewolf in your movie, but sure! i’ve never wanted to fast forward on a movie as much as i wanted to watching this one.
2) actually redeemable as a solid horror movie, if there were WAY MORE of horror’s favourite power couple, ed and lorraine warren. all 10 minutes of them on screen were so, so good. i wish i saw them the entire 106 minutes instead of what we actually got.
anyway boring movie - apologise to vera farmiga and patrick wilson as lorraine and ed warren for what you have done to their names!
