YouTube review of Bill & Ted... www.youtube.com/watch?v=4kIAC7fBOEQ
So apparently when I first watched Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, I didn't enjoy it. I must not have been in a good mood that day, because rewatching it in preparation for the new film, I thoroughly enjoyed Bill and Ted's original adventure.
Yes it is a silly time travel flick with dated 80s references, the silliest plot contrivances, and poor visual effects. But I think the charm of Bill & Ted is the silliness of the time travel. The movie never takes itself seriously and its just 90 minutes of pure lighthearted entertainment mixing three unlikely elements; 80s teenage rocker yuppies, history, and time travel, and surprisingly, the strange blend plays out in truly hysterical fashion.
Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter are an excellent duo together and their believable turn as rocker bros made the movie fully watchable. Their chemistry is mixed with George Carlin, a ton of memorable appearances from comical versions of historical figures such as Billy the Kid, Napoleon, Joan of Arc, Genghis Khan, Sigmund Freud, and Socrates to name a few, a rollicking 80s soundtrack, and of course the one-liners only the 80s can fully embrace.
I enjoyed Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, I look forward to seeing the other two films for the first time, and remember folks,
Be excellent to each other, and PARTY ON DUDES!!!
