    Grease 2

Being one of the few people who really doesn't care for the first "Grease" I must say that "Grease 2" is better than the the 1978 original.
Does it make it a good film? Not necessarily. But at least its entertaining and oh so quotable.

Sure, the songs aren't as good and its a lot sillier but at least it embraces its stupidity. Also, the plot is understandable (and not as morally questionable), characters likable and musical numbers energetic. Plus Michelle Pfeiffer & Maxwell Caulfield are more awesome than Olivia Newton-John & John Travolta.

Cristopher Nolan's docudrama epic is impressively made but lack's emotion. The story and themes pick up in the last act but none of the characters are memorable and despite its immersive visuals, everything feels awfully distant and cold.

It's almost like watching "The Dark Knight" trilogy with all the story beats, characters and themes left out. All what's left are impressive set pieces.

Although treading the same water as "Battle for the Planet of the Apes" by telling the similar Cain and Abel story, it paints a more thoughtful picture about the possible future between men and apes.

While it lacks a truly satisfying and powerful ending that the Apes…
