    There I am, sitting in the cinema & waiting to see "The Mummy" film and what do I get? "Uncharted" videogame rip-off, with bit of "An American Werewolf in London" and "World War Z" thrown in. And a little bit of Stephen Sommers "The Mummy".

    Alex Kurtzman's "The Mummy" doesn't have an original bone in its body and lacks any sense of dredd, wonder, or camp value. Except for Russel Crowe, who's gives us his most bizarre performance since "Les Misérables"…

    That's it. My life is complete. I have seen "Gigli". There is no need to watch another movie after this.

    But you know what - its not as bad as it's reputation. If you think its one of the worst movies ever, you really haven't seen enough movies.

    Don't get me wrong, its not very good - its totally misjudged, self indulgent and overlong. But it has a plot, somewhat developed characters, weird sense of humor and many memorable lines.…

    Beautifully made with a real sense of mood, tone, theme and character, Matt Reeves shows class and depth rarely seen in Hollywood blockbuster these days (think Gareth Edwards's "Godzilla", only really really good). Although treading the same water as "Battle for the Planet of the Apes" by telling the similar Cain and Abel story, it paints a more thoughtful picture about the possible future between men and apes.
