It hasnโt happened yet.
Well, John David Washington, in fact it has happened. Tenet has finally been released in cinemas (in the U.K.) and I have to say, imo this is yet another masterpiece from the mind of Christopher Nolan somewhat his most confusing and probably his most ambitious film to date.
I am just shocked ๐ฎ I have no words to describe how I feel after watching this in the cinemas. My mind is all over the place Iโm just confused.
This was my most anticipated film of 2020, and it didnโt disappoint at all !!!! Like all of Nolanโs films, this must be given the chance to see it in IMAX. Of course I saw this in that format. I just had to... ๐คทโโ๏ธ๐คทโโ๏ธ๐คทโโ๏ธ
I am just literally mind blown what Nolan has done in order to top himself as being one of if not the best visual storyteller director of all time. While his writing in this isnโt as strong as most of his films as there is some clunky dialogue at times. The first act of the film is very heavy dialogue and can brings the pacing down a bit, but when it starts to ram up, my poor heart was just racing from the second half onwards. ๐
The slow pace of the first act didnโt really bother me as much as I was thinking how on Earth did Nolan actually write the script in the first place?!?!?!? LIKE HOW?!?!?!!?!?!?
Other issue with Tenet is what I had with Dunkirk, and that was lack of character development. It isnโt as bad as Dunkirk (as that film was about different characters) but having a charming lead in JDW was fun to watch him inside a Nolan film. Robert Pattinson (bit under used) is very good also, in his pre Bruce Wayne test... Both of the lead actors in suits is art on the big screen. This will definitely make you want to buy suits after watching this film. Kenneth Branagh as the heavy Russian accent villain may be a turn off for some people, but I didnโt have any problems with him.
The action is the best in Nolanโs career by a mile....
The editing is phenomenal.... This has to win the Oscar if itโs happening next year!!!
As reviews have been saying this is definitely James Bond on acid and I fully agree! Suits, action, girls in bikinis but in forward and backward. Nolan!!!!
The booming music from Hans Zimmer sorry I meant Lugwig Gรถransson is proper booming especially coming from the cinema speakers.
This will require multiple rewatches, YouTube videos explaining the film, itโs definitely his most confusing film especially what happens in the 3rd act. Nolan!
I can see why Tenet will become a diverse Nolan film.
