Would have been a 12/10 if they had put Chris Evans's Johnny Storm in the Illuminati scene.
I remember seeing this when it first came out and disliking it. It was too quirky for my taste and I couldn't relate to it. The time has come for me to give it a new try, and I'm glad I did. The quirkiness is still there, but not as omnipresent as I remember. Overall, I liked it this time. Elliot Page did an awesome job, and I'm glad he got an Oscar nomination for the role.
Not quite what I expected. This is a coming of age/high school romance film that doesn't rely on too many tropes or or clichés. At some points, you kind of forget it's a high school film. I would have liked to see more development of the characters, especially Aster. I didn't really understand why either character was pining for her. Otherwise, it's pretty good and rather unique. I didn't feel like I was watching the same old story for the umpteenth time.
