Nikki’s review published on Letterboxd:
Despite my goddess Cate Blanchett being criminally underused, still mad props to Marvel's own Jesus, Taika Waititi, for redeeming the Thor trilogy from the ashes.
Maintaining hilarity while in the midst of the apocalypse seemed misplaced in a doomsday scenario as crucial as Ragnarok, yet Taika absolutely made it work. The film, albeit slightly underdeveloped in one of its arcs, was still awesome and really, really enjoyable. On a technical standpoint, it was clearly exceptional. Going on a lighter tone was definitely the right decision. There's no denying that overall, this is a well-made film.
Also, I just wanna say that Marvel is really killing it with their CGI game and I am all for those eyecandy visuals. This built up the hype for Infinity War quite well, and I cannot wait to see whatever else the MCU has in store for us.
