Crimes of the Future speaks to the sick and depraved condition of the artist under late capitalism. But for Cronenburg, Crimes states quite the opposite. But the strength of its art is that it tolerates many readings. If you start thinking through the politics of Crimes without a little reading against the grain, you are liable to turn away from many of its more generative ideas. I’ll get back to it at the end.

**update** I had extremely mystical dreams that night. Totally different feeling from any other dreaming I've done. I also turned my headphones off on my morning walk and just listened to the sounds. Total perceptual reframe - this kind of sustained immersive focus is very good for the brain IMHO
